Monticello Reservoir

One hundred and four earthquakes were located near Monticello Reservoir during 1998. They all had a ML less than 2.5 with the largest even having a magnitude ML = 2.48. Most of the events were located within the reservoir between stations MR10 and MR01. Except for three events, all the other depths were 4 km or shallower. The monthly distribution of the earthquakes around Monticello Reservoir is given in the following graph:

The most intense activity ocurred between November 27 and December 25, 1997, during which the ML = 2.48 occurred.
