The MPSSZ continued to be the most active (non RIS) seismic source zone in the Coastal Plain in 1999. There were ten locatable earthquakes. These events with magnitudes ranging between ML = 1.2 and ML = 3.0 were located at depths shallower than 15.5 km. The seismicity in 1999 was sparse. The seismicity was widespread in the MPSSZ. Temporally, the seismicity was distributed throughout the year. For detailed information of these events, please see the 1999 MPSSZ earthquake catalog.
